Chess Openings Training

In order to be good in the game of chess, you need to learn the standard chess openings and their variations. These chess openings were proven very effective over the passage of time. They were used and still being used by the grandmasters.

There are various standard chess openings (e.g. English Opening, Reti, Benoni, Volga Gambit, Dutch Defense, Sicilian Defense, Caro-Kann, Pirc, Modern, Alekhine, Scandinavian, Ruy Lopez, French, Scotisch, Russian, King’s Gambit, Queen’s Gambit, Slav, Gruenfeld, Queen's Pawn Game, King’s Indian, Nimzo-Indian, Queen’s Indian, Bogolubov, Catalan, etc). Chess Education will not go into further detail about these chess openings. They are best discussed in the Encyclopedia of Chess Openings.

How to play

  1. Just click the “tell me the move” link if you don’t know the move to a corresponding chess opening and it will tell you. Better that you get a pencil and a piece of paper, take down the moves and replay it in your actual chess board.
  2. After finishing one lesson, wait until a new chess opening lesson will load up into play.
